The long awaited, updated First Transit bus schedules have been distributed throughout the community.
After printing the new schedules, they were distributed to the following locations: First Transit's bus station at 21 Squires St., the area agency for the aging in the county office building, Employment Connections on Route 281, the Friendship House on Leon Avenue, Access to Independence on North Main St. and Guthrie Cortland Medical Center.
Seven Valleys Health Coalition's Mobility Management Coordinator has a small supply as well. We printed off a limited number at first, to get them circulated to the public, before the next supply will have to be printed to reflect other changes that are anticipated in the future.
The updated bus schedules reflect the route changes that First Transit implemented Sept. 16. With those changes, Routes 1-4 started operating on a 45-minute cycle, rather than 30 minutes. Routes 2,3 and 4 were also revised to reach a wider ridership area and the a.m. run for Route 7 now leaves 15 minutes earlier than it previously did. It is also a combined 6 and 7 run.
We hope that having this supply out there in the public helps people plan their trips and find the most efficient route as they navigate the revised bus routes.
